Trader Joe's PB&J Filled Crepes, 192g

As a French invention, crepes generally stick to the haute cuisine rule that sweet & savoury flavours should remain separate. For instance, think of the classic (savoury) La Complete crepe, which involves shredded Gruyere, a slice of ham, and an egg; or the traditional (sweet) Chocolat crepe, with chocolate-hazelnut spread and sliced bananas. We were curious: what happens if you break with culinary tradition and put savoury and sweet together in a single crepe? TJ's PB&J Filled Crepes help answer this question—and they do so deliciously!

These ultra-thin pancakes are made using a wheat-flour batter that is itself a nice balance of savoury & sweet, including salt and sugar in the recipe. Once cooked, they’re spread with a thin layer of both savoury peanut butter spread (made with dry roasted peanuts) and sweet strawberry filling (made with—you guessed it—strawberries), then rolled to make a treat that is delightfully easy to enjoy. It turns out, the flavour combination of savoury-nutty and sweet-fruity in a single Crepe is magnifique! Add the fact that these individually wrapped Crepes can be stored anywhere (no refrigeration required), and we believe they’ll become a regular part of your handy-snack rotation. And if you have access to a microwave, these Crepes are also wonderful when gently warmed for six to eight seconds.
