By many estimates, flatbread may just be the very first recipe that humanity ever developed. Verified archaeological evidence of flatbread production goes back all the way to 12,400 BCE, but many historians postulate that its origins may actually go back as far as 30,000 BCE. Needless to say, for a dish this foundational to the history of human culinary endeavour, it’s important that we found the best possible version to bring into our bakery section. And TJ's Flatbread is just that.
Made for TJ's by a bakery who just so happens to specialize in flatbreads, TJ's Flatbread is everything you’d expect it to be: soft, chewy, and just a touch savoury, with a structure that’s pliable enough to wrap around hearty proteins and leafy greens, while sturdy enough to not tear or fall apart under those fillings’ weight. And in addition to its uses as a wrap, it’s also great for scooping up your favorite savoury and/or cool and creamy dips—whether you do so straight out of the package, or cut them into wedges and fry them into crispy chips, first. And fittingly enough for such a foundational food, our Flatbreads also make a great base for an easy, homemade flatbread pizza with all your favorite toppings.
