TJ's Belgian supplier follows authentic Liège tradition by adding egg to the batter, which produces a dense, brioche-like flavour. Gilding the lily, Maple syrup is added for rich warmth and sweetness in every bite. Winsome for their smaller (than breakfast-style waffles) size, their roundish shape, and their uneven edges, the charm of these imperfections is further enhanced by a sprinkling of coarse pearl sugar (which also provides an unexpected and delicate crunch). TJ's Maple Brioche Style Liège Waffles are wonderful right out of the package, and since they’re individually wrapped, you can easily stash them in your purse or backpack for on-the-go enjoyment.
